Designing the Body

What does it really mean to have a body? And what if we could redesign it, transform it, or imagine it differently?

“Designing the Body” is an experiential workshop that combines creativity, reflection, and design practice to explore the relationship between identity, perception, and transformation. Starting from the human body as a point of departure, participants are guided through a process that invites them to rethink, modify, or amplify a part of themselves—opening up new possibilities for imagination and awareness.

What we’ll do

Through images, artistic references, and group discussions, we will engage in a shared reflection on the body and its meaning today.
We will then move into practice: each participant will develop a personal project using expressive tools such as drawing, collage, writing, or embroidery.
The workshop will conclude with a sharing session to present and reflect on the work created.

Starting from the organic and the human, the workshop introduces a reflection on speculative design and how projects can influence not only individuals but also the collective.

Mariangela Bombardieri, a designer and researcher whose work explores the body as a site of design, investigating the relationship between identity, transformation, and perception through speculative and interdisciplinary practices.
